My Goal: To offer independent (non-product driven) advice to best meet my clients' specific needs and goals as they near or are in the retirement season of life. I accomplish this by assisting each client develop a coordinated plan that encompasses financial and estate planning as well as money management.
My Background: I began my career in the financial services industry 15 years ago working for and representing institutional organizations. I have always focused on the retiree market in both estate and financial planning and my firm passionately adheres to a 'client needs based' planning philosophy. American Reliance Group, Inc. was incorporated in the mid-1990s and has continued to grow as we are privileged to serve 200+ clients in the greater Spokane area.
I assist my clients on many issues including Long Term Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Estate Taxes, Social Security Taxes, Investments, Annuities, Life Insurance, Wills, and Trusts. I find it extremely rewarding to help grow and protect my clients' nest egg before and during the retirement season of planning.
I am both a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). My Registered Investment Advisor designation allows me to engage in the business of advising others on investing in, purchasing or selling securities, money management, and financial planning advice on a fee basis. Completing a series of graduate level college courses and passing rigorous exams based on financial, estate and tax planning curriculum earned my CLU accreditation. I am a continual student of this field and recently earned my designation as Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF).
I am currently on the board and President elect of the local Salvation Army advisory board. I previously have served a board member for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
I am a long time resident of Spokane, Washington although I was raised in a rural setting in the Redwood region of Northern California. I have been married to my wife, Kristine, for nearly two decades and we have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Aaryn and Alyse. As a parent, I have been and continued to be involved in schooling, sports, drama, and church activities. As a family, we enjoy skiing, camping, and trips to visit friends and family across the United States.
